School History
Prompted by their belief in the Lord's command, "Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you," the members of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church voted to begin a Lutheran school. In September of 1948, a class was started with 12 children enrolled in kindergarten class. During the next four years, the growth was slow but steady. In 1952, the congregation voted to apply for a teacher to serve as its first principal and teach grades 1-5. Mr. Ralph Bickel accepted this assignment and served until July of 1967.

The enrollment in the fall of 1952 totaled 48 pupils in two kindergarten classes and 9 children in grades 1-5. Classes were conducted in an old frame house. Because of increased enrollment during the next few years, a new five-room school was built on the old church property at Northeast First Street and Fifth Avenue and was dedicated in the fall of 1956.
This building proved adequate until 1963, when an eight-room facility was dedicated on the new six-acre plot at Northwest Fourth Street and Swinton Avenue. In the fall of 1965, Trinity School was teaching students from kindergarten through seventh grade. Dr. Milton G. Kuolt, seventh grade teacher, became principal for the 1967-68 school year. Mr. Louis C. Jander served as principal from July 1968 through January 1974. The 1969-70 school year saw the addition of the eighth grade, and a ninth grade was added from the 1971-1975 school years. Mr. Timothy Riggs was installed as principal in February 1974 and served until June of 1976. Mr. Alan Koch served as principal July 1976 through June 1978. Mr. David A. Janisko was installed as Director of Christian Education in August 1978 and served as principal until July of 1995. Mr. Timothy Riggs served as the Interim principal during the 1995-1996 school years. Mr. Andrew Novy served as principal August 1996 through December 2002. The campus saw the beginning of double grades in Fall 2001 when a second first grade was added. An additional second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, then seventh grade followed annually.
Mr. Timothy Guelzow was installed in May 2003 and is presently serving as principal. For the 2009-10 school year, the campus has continued to grow with the addition of a second eighth grade class.
