The central goal of Trinity’s technology program is to use technology as a tool to enhance learning across the curriculum. Teachers use technology to engage students in instruction in a variety of ways. All classrooms are connected to a streaming video server which enables teachers to select educational video content aligned to their instructional goals, and better engage visual learners. Trinity teachers and staff use ParentsWeb software to facilitate electronic communication with parents. Student grades, school newsletters, forms, the monthly lunch menu, announcements, and other important information are posted on ParentsWeb so that Trinity parents are able to stay informed about their child’s progress and school happenings electronically.
Students in kindergarten through fifth grade attend weekly computer classes. Sixth through eighth graders attend computer class twice per week. The six specific goal areas of the Computer Curriculum for students at all levels are:
- Computer Literacy and Operations
- Keyboarding
- Network Communications
- Word Processing and Desktop Publishing
- Organizing, Manipulating and Analyzing Data
- Multimedia and Graphic Design
At Trinity, all students are expected to use technology responsibly. Therefore, during the first week of school each student, and their parent, are required to sign Trinity’s Acceptable Use Policy for Computers.
